The podcast launched in January 2025 with the technology broadcaster Paul Carter and has run every fortnight since. The idea is simple: rather than talk about a generation, talk to it. So a 19 year old councillor, a 15 year old party founder and a 17 year old A-level student have had the same half hour as the Chair of the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales, a B Corp chief executive and a 90 year old inventor from the Silent Generation.
Episodes are about 30 minutes, recorded in Alastair's studio and released on Tuesdays. Every episode is also filmed and available on the Generationally Speaking YouTube channel. The transcripts on each page are produced automatically, so forgive the odd slip; they are there so that anything a guest said can be found, read and quoted.
How often is a new episode released? Every two weeks, on a Tuesday.
How long is each episode? Between 30 and 40 minutes.
Where can I listen? Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, Pocket Casts, Overcast, YouTube, or the RSS feed above. Every episode also plays directly on its page here.
How do I become a guest? Send Alastair a note saying who you are, which generation you belong to and what you would want to talk about. Guests range from teenagers to nonagenarians and from apprentices to chief executives.
Can I quote the podcast? Yes. Please credit "Alastair Greener Generationally Speaking" and link to the episode page.
